I have to admit I'm at that stage where I'm beginning to look BACK on my life. And looking back is such an interesting place to be. What would I change? What did I do right? And what were the truly meaningful and worth while parts of my life? Looking at the title of this blog you can probably guess where I am going with this, right?!
August of 1989 I gave birth to a beautiful little girl and my life changed forever. Three years later a brother arrived and then another and another. Suddenly I had four children! Our home was full of organized chaos, noise, laughter, movement, joy and LOVE. Children come into this world oozing with love and as a mom my heart grew with unconditional love and devotion with each new child.
Looking back I'm grateful I didn't follow the crowd who pooh poohed motherhood. I'm filled with sorrow for this generation when I hear, "I'm not having kids." Why this is so popular now I do not know but I do know they will be missing out on joy, community and growth that only comes from parenthood.
To commemorate this Mother's day I have compiled a slide show of pictures taken over my motherhood years. I do not do this to boast or brag but to remember experiences and memories that shaped me and my offspring. Yes, I've had a blessed and wonderful life raising my children in foreign lands but every mom has her own set of special memories that warm her heart and wet her eyes. I share this special mother's day slide show because looking back this is something I did right. Times could be challenging, mistakes were made but over all these are the truly meaningful and worth while parts of my life.
